The symbol of a wasp was first conceived on the Bf 110 aircraft
of II Gruppe, Zerstorergeschwader1 in the early months of WW2.
It first started as three small wasps flying above a cloud. This
developed into the larger more stylised “Wespen” carried
in the Russian campaign and later Italy. |
