A Lancaster BI in unfamiliar but welcome surroundings of a late
afternoon air test. A trial flight was often made to check the
serviceability of the aircraft after the ground crew had repaired
or serviced it. If all systems were O.K., it could be signed
as operational and available for the night’s target. |
