| The Stirling came into squadron
    service in mid 1941 and quickly became popular amongst the crews
    who manned it. Called "the gentleman's aircraft" by
    many, for it's ease of handling. Before becoming leader of the
    RAF's 'Pathfinder' force, Group Capt. Hamish Mahaddie flew over
    50 missions in the Stirling. Signed by Hamish Mahaddie. |
