TBM Avengers from the USS Belleau Wood make a bombing run on the Japanese aircraft carrier Hiyo on the evening of June 20, 1944.
LT JG George Brown's Avenger is hit in the wing by a 25mm round and catches fire, causing the gunner and radio man to bail out. The fire extinguished itself and LT Brown, badly wounded, flew on by himself with another Avenger escorting him, but Brown was lost after flying into clouds in the dark and was not seen again.
