In a desperate attempt to cripple the allied air forces in
Europe, the Luftwaffe
mounted Operation Bodenplatte on January 1st 1945. Every available
fighter was
scrambled for the surprise attack on allied bases in France Belgiun
and Holland.
Depicted is the scene at Eindhoven, Holland, where 60 RAF aircraft
