It's use as a Fighter, bomber,
night-fighter, reconnaissance and many other variants made the
P-38 Lightning one of the most adaptable and respected aircraft
of World War Two. The P-38 serving in Europe and the Mediterranean
theatre, earned it the German nickname 'The fork-tail devil'.
