Oil on canvas 20" x 37" - $27,500 The painting depicts a B-29 with one engine out, as it touches down on the airstrip at Iwo Jima. At great cost, the island had been taken in order to provide an emergency landing strip for damaged B-29s returning from their long range missions to Japan.
