 Into the Teeth of the Wind

Bound for Tokyo, Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy Doolittle launches his B-25 Mitchell from the heaving deck of the carrier USS Hornet on the morning of 18 April, 1942. Leading a sixteen-bomber force on their long distance one - way mission, the Doolittle Raiders completed the first strike at the heart of Imperial Japan since the infamous attack on Pearl Harbour four months earlier. Together, they completed one of the most audacious air raids in aviation history.
The main print is signed by seven of the Doolittle Raiders plus one honarary raider, a Chinese citizen
who asisted the aircrews in evading capture by the Japanese. The print is fully conservation framed to include the original signature of the mission commander, General James H. Doolittle.
The companion print "Now the Day Dawns" is signed by a further four Doolittle Raiders.

All materials used in the matting are acid free, and the print has been mounted using conservation grade mounting corners.
Glazing is UV-filtering Plexiglas. Shipping is free within the continental U.S.
