Full House - Aces High
by John Doughty

On November 21, 1944, the 8th Air Force launched 995 B-17 Flying Fortresses and 366 B-24 Liberators to attack the petroleum facilities near Merseburg, Germany. After releasing their bombs over the target, two B-17Gs from the 91st BG, “Nine-O-Nine” and “Outhouse Mouse”, are seen flying over the Dutch coastline as they head back towards their base at Bassingbourn, England. Escorting the two bombers are three P-51 Mustang Aces from the 352nd Fighter Group;
George Preddy in “Cripes A’ Mighty”, John C Meyers in “Petie 3rd”, and
Bill Whisner in “Moonbeam McSwine”.
Signed by 13 pilots and aircrew from the 352nd FG and 91st BG, including 352nd Fighter Group Aces; Donald Bryan and Alden Rigby.
