P-47D Thunderbolts of the 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter
Group, are shown as they take off from Duxford for a strafing
mission in the spring of 1944. The 78th Fighter Group would become
one of the most successful fighter units in the 8th Air Force,
particularly in the ground attack role. Signed by four P-47 Aces.
